Our Clinical Approach

At the Thai Travel Clinic, we specialize in tropical medicine and travel related diseases. Fever, rashes, or digestive issues acquired in the tropics often require a level of expertise beyond general medical care. As a university-based hospital, we correlate your symptoms with a detailed travel history and regional disease patterns to find answers where others might see a mystery.

We provide comprehensive care for a wide range of conditions, from common infections like dengue, influenza, covid, to more complex tropical diseases such as malaria, leptospirosis, scrub typhus, melioidosis, etc. Diagnostic investigations are selected strategically and stepwise, guided by clinical probability and disease severity. This may include laboratory testing, imaging, or more sophisticated research lab when indicated.

What to expect during your visit

We follow a structured, clinical protocol to diagnose and treat illnesses acquired during travel:

  1. Clinical and exposure assessment
Our doctor will review your symptoms, travel or residence history in endemic areas, timing of illness, and possible environmental or animal exposures. Our doctor will also perform a physical examination to find the clues of diagnosis.

  2. Specialized Laboratory Testing: Based on the assessment, appropriate investigations are selected to narrow the differential diagnosis and identify conditions that require urgent treatment.

  3. Expert Clinical Management: Our tropical medicine specialists formulate a targeted treatment plan based on the latest evidence, whether you require outpatient / in-patient care or  specialized diagnosis and advance treatment for more complex diseases.
