Research Activity

Advancing Knowledge in Travel Medicine

At Thai Travel Clinic, research is not an adjunct activity — it is a defining component of who we are. As the Travel Medicine Research Unit within the Department of Clinical Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, our work extends beyond clinical service to the systematic generation of knowledge that advances the science and practice of travel medicine.

Our multidisciplinary research team includes physicians, residents in training, nurses, graduate students, and external academic collaborators. Together, we conduct clinical, epidemiological, implementation, and policy-oriented research aimed at improving infectious disease prevention, vaccine strategies, post-exposure management, and traveler health outcomes.

By integrating real-world clinical data from our travel clinic, regional disease surveillance insights, and international academic collaboration, we strive to produce research that is both scientifically rigorous and directly applicable to practice. Our commitment is to translate evidence into improved standards of care for travelers and to contribute meaningfully to global travel and tropical medicine knowledge.
